According to a report from TEAMtalk, newly-appointed Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior does not fancy Kendry Paez, and it will be interesting to see if the 18-year-old attacking sensation is sold at the end of the season.
“I’m not sure if Kendry Paez will be too eager to see Liam Rosenior at Chelsea,” Graeme Bailey explained. “I think that’s the beginning of the end of his Chelsea career as well, because he hasn’t been impressing at Strasbourg, so I don’t see a chance for him to impress at Chelsea in the short term anyway.”
The young attacker joined Chelsea in 2023, and he was highly rated in South America at the time. The South American wonderkid is currently on loan at RC Strasbourg, and Rosenior will have seen him up close. It seems that the Chelsea manager does not rate him too highly, and it remains to be seen whether the Blues decide to part ways with him at the end of the season.
There is no doubt that the Ecuadorian wonderkid is a talented player with a bright future, and joining the right team could bring out the best in him. The 18-year-old has had opportunities at the French club under Rosenior, but he scored just once in 20 appearances.
Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they will look to fight for major trophies. They need players who can make an immediate impact and help them win major trophies. They might not be able to accommodate the 18-year-old in the starting lineup anytime soon, and it would make sense for them to cash in on the player.
The teenage sensation needs regular opportunities to flourish and fulfil his potential. A move away from Chelsea would be ideal for him as well, even if on loan. Recent reports have linked the Ecuadorian wonderkid with a loan move to Ipswich Town.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Mike Penders and defender Mamadou Sarr could be on their way out of Chelsea at the end of the season as well. They are on loan at Strasbourg as well.
