Facundo Medina’s (26) absence has been a lot longer than initially expected. The Argentina international suffered an ankle sprain back at the end of September and he has yet to feature since, meaning that he has yet to make a big impact since making the summer move from RC Lens to Olympique de Marseille.
Roberto De Zerbi announced at the start of November, prior to the most recent international break, that Medina could have been in the squad to face Stade Brestois, however, the defender was not included, and he is not expected back this month, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Medina continues to recover from the ankle injury, but continues to feel some pain sometimes, L’Équipe reports. As a result, he is yet to fully return to first-team training. His return, therefore, is not expected this month, but could come at some point in December. It means that he wil miss important games against OGC Nice and Newcastle United.
