Tottenham initiate move to sign Maghnes Akliouche, view him as top target

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham have identified AS Monaco attacking sensation Maghnes Akliouche as a priority target.

Maghnes Akliouche has had a sensational rise at AS Monaco. He has come up the ranks at the French club and has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2022. He has done wonders for both club and country, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed

According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham are keen on adding more firepower to their attack on an immediate basis, and they have identified Akliouche as an ideal option to bolster their ranks.

The 23-year-old hasn’t looked back since getting promoted to Monaco’s senior side. He had an impressive 2024/25 season and has picked up from where he left off last time out. In his 11 league outings this season, Akliouche has three goals and two assists.

While he prefers playing out wide on the right flank, he is quite comfortable playing anywhere in midfield as well as attack. His impressive performances have helped him cement a spot in the Monaco starting XI, and he has also managed to break into the French national team.

The young winger is in contention to be a part of their squad for the World Cup. His impressive rise has placed him on Tottenham’s radar. The North London club want to reinforce their attack on a priority basis.

Tottenham could soon make a move

While they had quite a few names on their wishlist, things haven’t really gone according to plan for them. As a result, they have shifted their focus towards Akliouche. They feel the 23-year-old has everything that is needed to fit into Thomas Frank’s team.

He is an ideal fit for their project and has all the qualities needed to have an immediate impact at Spurs. They consider him a priority target for the upcoming transfer window. Initially, they were only monitoring the French international, but of late, they have intensified their efforts to bring him to North London.

Tottenham won’t find it easy to strike a deal for his services. Not only will they have to convince the player about their project, but they will also have to strike a deal with Monaco, who are unlikely to let go of one of their most valuable assets until there is a massive offer on the table.
