Leeds United in transfer tussle to sign Karlo Simic

Leeds United will have to battle it out with Juventus and Atletico Madrid in their pursuit of VfL Wolfsburg attacking sensation Karlo Simic.

Karlo Simic’s sensational performances at the youth level in Germany have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. According to 24 Sata via Sport Witness, Leeds United are keen on signing the teenage attacking sensation.

But the West Yorkshire-based outfit won’t find it easy to secure his services, as they will have to battle UEFA Champions League clubs Atletico Madrid and Juventus to get their hands on the VfL Wolfsburg academy product.

Karlo Simic joined VfL Wolfsburg from St. Pauli in the summer of 2021, and he has only gone from strength to strength since then. While he is yet to make it to their first team, the 18-year-old has made quite a name for himself with his performances at the youth level.

In the ongoing season, the teenage prospect has featured in a total of 13 matches for their Under-19 team and has bagged 10 goals. He has also put in some impressive performances for Croatia’s youth team.

European trio to battle for Simic

Karlo Simic’s impressive rise has placed him on the radar of multiple top clubs from across Europe. Leeds United, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid have all scouted the youngster on quite a few occasions.

All three clubs are impressed with him and believe he could do wonders for them in the long run. Leeds United, who are currently fighting for survival in the English top flight, could even use him as ideal cover in the first team.

While matching Atletico Madrid and Juventus in terms of project and finances might not be possible for Leeds United, they could certainly offer him a faster route to the senior team, which could lure him to the Premier League.

The teenage attacking prospect might not yet be ready to play at the highest level, but he certainly has the potential. More importantly, with his contract at Wolfsburg running out at the end of the season, the Bundesliga club could look to cash in on him in the coming days.
