According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Radu Dragusin is the subject of interest from Fiorentina. The relegation-threatened Serie A club will aim to bolster the defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the winter transfer window. So, the 23-year-old Tottenham centre-back has emerged as a target for La Viola.
Fabio Paratici, who will join Fiorentina as the new head of football after leaving Tottenham in the coming days, is masterminding a move for Dragusin. However, Tottenham recently rejected an approach from La Viola, and the player “needs to be convinced” about joining them. Nevertheless, the Bucharest-born defender’s spell with Tottenham will end soon, with a January exit on the cards.
Radu Dragusin has struggled to make his mark since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Genoa in a deal worth €30 million in January 2024. The 23-year-old arrived in North London after an excellent stint with Genoa. However, the youngster has yet to become a regular for Tottenham, and a long-term knee injury kept him in the treatment room for most of 2025.
Dragusin has managed only 38 appearances thus far for Tottenham, amassing 2,609 minutes of game time. However, the Romanian defender’s stock remains high, and a return to Serie A may be on the cards. Fiorentina will be among the prospective suitors vying for the young defender’s signature in the winter transfer window.
Radu Dragusin has been on Fiorentina’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as they are desperate to rescue their season after winning only two Serie A games thus far. While two wins in three matches have lifted La Viola from the bottom of the table, they are still three points behind 17th-placed Genoa.
Several candidates, including Axel Disasi, have thus emerged on Fiorentina’s radar, with Dragusin also a viable target. However, a January deal may not be straightforward, as the Bucharest native “needs to be convinced” about joining them. Nevertheless, Fabio Paratici, who will join Fiorentina as the new head of football after leaving Tottenham in the coming days, is masterminding a move for Dragusin.
Meanwhile, the relegation-threatened Serie A club will not be alone in the race to sign Dragusin, as recent reports have linked the 23-year-old Romanian international with several other well-known clubs, including Crystal Palace. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Tottenham defender, who has no future at the North London club.
