Lequincio Zeefuik has been sent out on loan by AZ to Heracles. The young striker swaps places with Jizz Hornkamp, who left Almelo a few weeks ago to join AZ. Zeefuik will hope that the move can give him more game time and be more successful than the time he spent out on loan last season. Last winter the young striker joined OH Leuven on loan but struggled to score goals in the Belgian Pro League.
The 21-year-old Zeefuik has played 14 games for AZ this season, scoring one goal. Last year he failed to socre for OH Leuven in 16 games. However, he is still very young and has plenty of time to develop. As a teenager he broke through at Volendam which brought some pressure and expectations. Since joining AZ in 2023, Zeefuik has only played 24 games, scoring once. Perhaps a move to Heracles, who will need someone to step up and replace Hornkamp’s goals, could be what Zeefuik needs to really settle at this level.
