Charleroi to terminate loan of Watford defender after just one substitute appearance

HLN are reporting that Charleroi have terminated the loan deal for Nikoloz Chikovani. The Georgian teenager only made one late substitute appearance for the Zebras and will now return to his parent club Watford. Chikovani joined Charleroi on loan from Watford in the summer when the club were managed by Rik De Mil. However, the head coach, who is now in charge at Gent, did not think Chikovani was at the level to play in the Belgian Pro League. His only appearance for Charleroi came under the sides new head coach, Hans Cornelis, who brought him on in the 95th minute of their 2-1 victory over Anderlecht.

Chikovani only joined Watford in the summer from Dinamo Tblisi, where he had played nine senior games as a teenager. Chikovani is still only 18-years-old and will likely return to the Watford youth set up, or be sent back out on loan to another side. Charleroi and Watford have a close relationship and have made a number of transfer dealings over the years.
