Newcastle United learn what they must do to sign Dusan Vlahovic

Newcastle United may need Champions League football to entice players like Dusan Vlahovic to St James Park in the summer.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle United’s chances of landing Dusan Vlahovic may hinge on Champions League football next season. The Serbian forward is set to leave Juventus in the summer on a free transfer, but he will seek top-tier continental football wherever he joins.

Dusan Vlahovic’s future looks increasingly likely to leave Juventus in the summer when his contract expires at the club. Signing as a free agent will prove lucrative for the player, as well as attract plen ty of interest in his services, as there’s widespread interest from the Premier League, while AC Milan are also keen.

Vlahovic would be open to joining a Premier League side, but there might be conditions attached. The striker will seek to join a club playing in the Champions League, which may deter a few of his suitors from making approaches.

The likes of Tottenham and Barcelona were keen earlier, as these are clubs vying for a top-drawer striker in the summer. The Serbian’s prolific record in front of the goal makes him a coveted target for many, with Newcastle United also thought to be in the race.

The Magpies have been made aware that signing Vlahovic would require a lucrative contract and Champions League football. Without the continental game, the 26-year-old Serie A attacker may not move to St James Park, and at the moment, Newcastle United are steadily slipping out of contention to finish in the top four.

Dusan Vlahovic to Newcastle United?

As of the time of writing, Newcastle United lost their game to Brentford in the Premier League and slipped into 12th spot, some 11 points behind fourth spot. The chances of them recovering from such a deficit seem remote, which more or less rules them out of next season’s Champions League unless they win the current edition.

As for Vlahovic, he will have plenty of suitors lining up to sign him owing to his availability on a free transfer in the summer. Many of these suitors will be in the Champions League, and that may effectively rule out a possible switch to Newcastle United for the 26-year-old Serie A attacker.
