Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah open to Saudi Arabia move amid Al-Ittihad talks

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have opened talks to sign Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah (33), according to a report from French media Foot Mercato.

The Egypt international had looked close to leaving the Merseyside club during the January transfer window, however, he managed to heal his relationship with the club and manager Arne Slot following his bombshell remarks.

Salah a long-term saudi target

However, that does not necessarily mean that Salah’s long-term future lies at Anfield and a departure could be on the cards come the summer, Foot Mercato understands. At the end of the season, the former Chelsea forward will have just one year remaining on his deal at Liverpool, and the player’s agent remains in talks with Al-Ittihad.

Salah himself would now be more open to a move to the Gulf State, the publication adds. The Egyptian has been a long-term target for the Saudi Pro League and this summer they may finally land their man.
