Borussia Mönchengladbach not ruling out making a second coaching change to avoid relegation to the 2.Bundesliga

Bild reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are not ruling out making a second coaching change if relegation becomes a threat.

Since the end of 2025, Gladbach have found themselves slowly sinking towards the relegation zone, and now they find themselves, once again, well in the fight to avoid the drop.

Despite the poor form, head coach Eugen Polanski’s job is not yet under threat, and even if die Fohlen lose to Freiburg at the weekend, he will not be sacked, at least for now.

Polanski became Gladbach head coach back in September, initially as an interim, replacing the fired Gerardo Seoane, before then being given the permanent role. After a strong start, which saw Polanski’s side go five games unbeaten, they have now only won one of their last nine games and have slipped into three points above the relegation zone.

Could Gladbach sack Polanski?

While in the short term, Polanski’s job at Borussia Park is safe, the club have not ruled out the option of sacking the head coach if relegation to the 2.Bundesliga becomes a real possibility.
