Liverpool sound out move for Michael Olise, player would prefer La Liga switch

Barcelona and Real Madrid have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Michael Olise following an enquiry from Liverpool.

Michael Olise has taken his game to the next level since joining Bayern Munich, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. All the top clubs from across Europe are keeping tabs on him and would love to have him on their squad.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are one of the clubs that are keen on signing him, and they did make an enquiry ahead of the summer transfer window. The Reds have suffered a blow in their pursuit, as Olise would prefer a move to Spain if he were to leave Bayern Munich in the future.

It is a massive boost for Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are also keen on the signature of the French forward, who is widely regarded as one of the best young forwards.

Olise made quite a name for himself while playing for Crystal Palace. While there was no shortage of interest in his services, Bayern won the race for his signature back in 2024. He had an exceptional debut campaign and has carried that form into the ongoing campaign.

In his 36 outings across competitions, the French forward has 38 goal contributions. The right-winger has found the back of the net on 13 occasions and has 25 assists to his name. His performances have placed him on the radar of the biggest clubs. While his contract at Bayern runs until 2029, clubs are ready to break the bank to prise him away.

Olise won’t be returning to the Premier League

With Mohamed Salah’s future uncertain, Liverpool are looking at Olise as the ideal long-term replacement. He certainly has all the qualities to fill the big boots of the Egyptian international. However, they are under no illusion that signing him will be easy following another enquiry in recent weeks.

Bayern have no intentions of negotiating his departure. More importantly, Olise is content at the German club and doesn’t intend on leaving anytime soon. However, he does have a long-term ambition of testing himself in the Spanish top flight, where Real Madrid and Barcelona are both keen on his signature.

Both La Liga outfits would love the opportunity to sign the 24-year-old, who is already in the conversation to be the best forward in world football.
