According to a report by the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Andoni Iraola. The two Premier League outfits are scouring the market for a top-class manager as they prepare for a new era. So, the 43-year-old Bournemouth head coach has emerged as a target for the London clubs.
Andoni Iraola has established himself as one of the best managers in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth over two years ago. The Spaniard was an underrated full-back during his professional career, spending most of his playing days with Athletic Club and representing Spain seven times.
The 43-year-old began his managerial career in Cyprus, taking over at AEK Larnaca in 2018 before returning to Spain a year later. However, Iraola rose in prominence in the coaching sphere during his spell with Rayo Vallecano, taking the club from the second division to stability in La Liga. That earned him a job with Bournemouth in 2023.
Since then, Iraola has taken Bournemouth to new heights, making the Cherries one of the most eye-catching teams in the Premier League. A top-half finish in the Premier League is possible this season, with the Spanish tactician selling dreams of European qualification with his team’s exploits in the ongoing campaign. That has piqued the attention of several bigwigs, including Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.
Crystal Palace’s interest in Andoni Iraola is understandable. The Eagles are combing the market for a new head coach, as Oliver Glasner has confirmed that his stint with the South London club will end after the 2025/26 season. Several candidates have thus emerged on Crystal Palace’s wishlist, with Iraola also a viable target.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, the Lilywhites hold a long-standing interest in Iraola. The continued interest is understandable, as Igor Tudor has only joined the North London club until the end of the 2025/26 season. So, Tottenham must scour the market for a long-term replacement, with the 43-year-old Spaniard emerging as a viable target.
However, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur must look elsewhere for a new head coach, as Iraola is mulling over signing a new contract with Bournemouth. So, it will be interesting to see who the two London clubs appoint as their next head coaches this summer.
