Sky Germany and Bild both report that Werder Bremen are hoping to sell their centre-back Karim Coulibaly in the summer.
The 18-year-old has a contract at the Weserstadion until 2029, but it is expected that he will leave the club in the summer.
Bremen have already received offers from abroad, with clubs from the Premier League and Serie A showing an interest. The Bundesliga side hopes a bidding war can be started and they can sell him for €40-50m.
This season, Coulibaly has played 21 times, making his debut under Horst Steffen right at the beginning of the campaign, and has been a regular in the squad. However, the 18-year-old is currently out with a hamstring injury.
If they can sell Coulibaly for the proposed fee, this would break Bremen’s record sale, which is currently held by Diego when he joined Juventus for €27m in 2009.
Other names in the top five include Thomas Delaney (Borussia Dortmund, €20m), Mesut Özil (Real Madrid, €18m), Niclas Füllkrug (Borussia Dortmund, €17.25m) and Miroslav Klose (Bayern Munich, €15m).
