Juventus’ Michele Di Gregorio set for longer presence on sidelines

A significant hierarchy shift is taking place in the Juventus goal, as Michele Di Gregorio is expected to remain sidelined for at least the next few weeks under manager Luciano Spalletti.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the decision stems from Spalletti’s desire to protect Di Gregorio following a difficult run of form.

In his place, Mattia Perin has stepped up to start the last three matches, proving himself a reliable and composed presence between the posts. Perin’s performances have been so convincing that the coaching staff now views him as the current undisputed number one.

The situation has evolved beyond a simple rotation; there is now a distinct possibility that Perin will retain the starting spot until the end of the season.

While Di Gregorio works to rediscover his confidence away from the immediate pressure of the pitch, Perin has seized the opportunity to consolidate his role. For Juventus, the stability provided by the veteran goalkeeper has become a key asset as they navigate the final months of the campaign, leaving Di Gregorio with a difficult path back to the starting eleven.
