PSG join Juventus, Benfica in Bernardo Silva chase

PSG are all set to battle Juventus and Benfica in their pursuit of Manchester City midfield mainstay Bernardo Silva.

Bernardo Silva’s future has become a massive talking point as he could be on the move this summer. According to a report from Football Insider, PSG have joined Juventus and Benfica in the race to sign the Portuguese international if he decides to move on from Manchester City.

Silva joined the Premier League giants in the summer of 2017 from AS Monaco in a deal worth £43 million. He has only gone from strength to strength over the years and has been one of the mainstays in Pep Guardiola’s team. The 31-year-old has played a massive part in all the success they have had.

He remains a key figure in their team and has been involved in 38 games in the ongoing campaign. The Portuguese international has even contributed towards seven goals. While Guardiola is a massive admirer of Silva and would love to have him around next season, his future is up in the air with his contract running out at the end of the season.

It remains unclear whether he will sign a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, and a departure looks the most likely outcome at this stage. With him potentially available on a free transfer, multiple top clubs from across Europe are after his signature.

European giants to battle for Silva’s signature

PSG are one of the clubs that have entered the race for the Portuguese star, who can feature as a right-winger, an attacking midfielder or a central midfielder. The French giants have a long-standing interest in him and could certainly launch a move this summer.

Meanwhile, Juventus are also keen on his signature, and their former midfielder Miralem Pjanic has urged the club to sign the 31-year-old. The Old Lady are exploring a move for him alongside his former club Benfica. The Portuguese outfit dreams of bringing him back to the club.

All three clubs would pounce on the opportunity to sign Silva, who still has quite a few years left at the highest level. His experience and versatility could certainly help them out.
