PSG’s Senny Mayulu ruled out of France U21 duty

When Senny Mayulu (19) was withdrawn in the first half of Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-0 win over OGC Nice on Saturday night, it didn’t look good for the midfielder’s chances of featuring for the France U21 side during the upcoming international break.

Mayulu came off in the 44th minute and was replaced by Lucas Beraldo. On his way off, he had a brief exchange with Luis Enrique and pointed at his lower leg when signalling the issue. The PSG manager said that the academy product would undergo tests on the injury and those tests have confirmed a minor muscle injury.

Mayulu is suffering from a calf injury and will miss the next two weeks of action, as confirmed by an FFF communiqué. As a result, he will miss Les Bleuets EURO U21 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Iceland. He will look to return to action ahead of PSG’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool.
