According to Football Insider, Everton are now one of the better-placed sides in the Harry Wilson chase, with the winger steadily heading towards free agency. Leeds United are also interested in the Welsh internatioanl, but the Toffees could take the lead in the coming period, as they could prepare an important offer for the attacker.
Fulham are still sweating over the future of Harry Wilson, with the winger yet to commit his future to the club. Talks around January showcased that the Welshman might want the future of manager Marco Silva sorted before committing his own to the club, something the Londoners are yet to finalise, as they could potentially lose the attacker, who has 16 goal contributions, in what has been his best season since his £12 million arrival from Liverpool in 2021.
Fulham had reportedly offered him an improved contract recently, but there is no news on whether Wilson is eager to sign on those terms. As the weeks go by, the Welshman is closing in on becoming a free agent, with his current deal expiring in the summer; and he will have several clubs to pick from.
Daniel Farke wanted to add Wilson to his side, which also boasts a tremendous Welsh contingent at the moment. While Leeds United admire the attacker, the Elland Road outfit face an uphill battle for his signature, given that some of their rivals are also interested, namely Everton.
Everton failed with an enquiry back in January, as Fulham had no interest in selling their main attacker midway through the season. Both those teams have European ambitions, although it is the Toffees who look likelier to secure continental football next season following recent results.
Everton were expected to make a fresh move for Wilson in the summer, and it appears they are well on track for that. The Toffees are eager to add flair and creativity to their frontline while keeping hold of their existing stars like Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye, and Dwight McNeil, as adding the Fulham talisman could add another layer to their team.
Everton could offer European football as a prospect for Wilson, making them strong contenders in the race. There is still a possibility he commits his future at Craven Cottage, but for now, he seems destined to leave the club on a free transfer, with the Toffees in the lead ahead of rivals Leeds United.
