Tylel Tati set for Nantes contract extension

Tylel Tati (18) is expected to sign a contract extension with FC Nantes shortly, according to L’Équipe.

The centre-back, currently under contract with Les Canaris until 2028, is likely to commit to the Breton club for a further two seasons, as provided for in the option contained in the contract – his first in his career – which he signed last autumn.

This is good news for the Nantes management, who have been under pressure from all sides from various major European clubs trying to prise the French prodigy away from them for several months. Starting with Chelsea, whose bid was rejected by Tati’s entourage last winter.

Having started in each of the 19 Ligue 1 matches he has played in this season, the Champigny-sur-Marne native has regained his place in the starting line-up under Vahid Halilhodžić, who reinstated Tati after he had been dropped from the squad by Ahmed Kantari, the Bosnian’s predecessor on the bench of the team currently sitting 17th in the French league.
