Morgan Rogers open to Aston Villa summer exit

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers.

Morgan Rogers looks set to part ways with Aston Villa this summer. According to a report from The Sun, the English international is ready to make the jump to a bigger Premier League club ahead of next season. It is a massive boost for Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, who are all keen on his signature.

While things didn’t work out for Rogers at Manchester City, he revived himself with a short stint at Middlesbrough before joining Villa in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth £8 million. He has gone on to establish himself as a key figure in Unai Emery’s team without much trouble.

In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 44 matches and has racked up over 3,600 minutes. The 23-year-old has contributed towards 17 goals. His consistent performances have helped him cement his spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, and he looks set to play a part in the World Cup.

While he did sign a new deal towards the end of last year, Rogers could still be on the move this summer. There is an understanding between both parties that the upcoming transfer window could be the right time for him to move on.

Since the club is under financial pressure, cashing in on their most valuable player can surely help. A potential transfer will certainly exceed the £80 million, and it could even surpass the club record £100 million that Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish in 2021.

Premier League trio that are after Rogers

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the biggest contenders for his services. He could replace exit-linked Enzo Fernandez at Stamford Bridge, and he certainly fits their project, which revolves around signing the best young players.

With Mohamed Salah leaving the club, Liverpool seek more quality in the final third, and Rogers could certainly help. Even though he is not a like-for-like replacement, he will add goals as well as a lot of creativity.

Meanwhile, he could become one of the leaders of the new project at Manchester United. However, since he wants to join a team that competes for all major titles, Chelsea and Liverpool, who have a long -standing interest in him, could have the edge.
