Real Madrid set to step up interest in Michael Olise

Real Madrid will reportedly aim to beat Liverpool in the race to sign 24-year-old French international Michael Olise from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

According to an update by reputed German journalist Christian Falk on CF Bayern Insider, Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are keen on bolstering their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker in the upcoming transfer window.

Apart from Real Madrid, the Frenchman is also a target for Liverpool, with the Merseyside outfit considering him as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. However, the Premier League champions are in a spot of bother, as the Spanish giants are intensifying their efforts to sign Olise from Bayern Munich in the coming months.

Michael Olise and his stupendous rise at Bayern Munich

Michael Olise has taken no time to establish himself as one of the world’s best players since joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in July 2024. The 24-year-old hit the ground running at the Allianz Arena, and he has been a pivotal figure for Die Roten since forging an excellent partnership with Harry Kane in the final third.

The French international has been exceptional in the excellent 2025/26 campaign thus far. Olise has scored 16 goals and provided 29 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. With such figures to boast of his talent, it is hardly surprising that Olise has become a hot property in the market this year, with Real Madrid and Liverpool among his prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Premier League return on the horizon?

Michael Olise has been on Real Madrid’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Rodrygo faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Brazilian international has not been a regular starter for Real Madrid this season, and a summer exit may be on the cards. Olise has thus emerged as a viable target for Los Blancos.

As for Liverpool, the Reds are preparing for Mohamed Salah’s departure as a free agent after the 2025/26 season, and they need a long-term successor to the legendary Egyptian. Several candidates have thus emerged on Liverpool’s wishlist, with Olise also an option worth considering.

Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Bayern Munich’s asking price of €120 million will be a sticking point for Real Madrid. However, a summer move may not materialise either way after recent comments from Uli Hoeness suggesting the Bundesliga champions have no interest in selling the 24-year-old French international.
