The Italian and Spanish press has constantly spoken of Alessandro Bastoni’s possible move from Inter to Barcelona. Some sections of the media have also been confident that the deal will go through, with the Serie A star having struggled in the last few months.
Interestingly, the Italian was given a standing ovation by Nerazzurri fans during the game against Roma. With a Scudetto yet to be won, it seems like Bastoni isn’t entirely sure about joining Barcelona after all.
Corriere dello Sport report that the centre-back isn’t interested in leaving Inter. In the past, Manchester City have come calling for him and he turned down a move even then. He made it clear to Inter to not pay heed to any offers from the Citizens.
It is claimed that Barcelona’s interest is clear but Bastoni’s is not. Contacts have been held between his entourage and the Catalan but there is very little certainty about whether Bastoni himself wants the transfer.
He is focused entirely on the title race and on Inter, who haven’t received any word from the player about his decision to leave.
