Al-Qadsiah now a serious option to sign Mohamed Salah

Al-Qadsiah, managed by former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, are a surprise new contender for Mohamed Salah in a serious way.

Mohamed Salah is yet to decide his future following his announcement to leave Liverpool, with the Saudi Pro League increasingly looking like his next destination. As per Team Talk, Brendan Rodgers’ Al-Qadsiah are the new contenders for the Liverpool great, as they are eager to position themselves as a serious option for the Egyptian.

Mohamed Salah announced his decision to leave Liverpool in the summer despite having a year left on his deal at the club. The Merseysiders are set to let him leave for nothing, as this might be a mutual decision from all parties, although his next destination is very much under wraps.

Salah was primed to join the Saudi Pro League, not only now, but for a long time, with some of the PIF-owned clubs chasing his signature for at least two years now. There’s a big case to be made for the Middle Eastern teams now that the winger is available on a free transfer, as he could secure a lucrative contract there.

There’s interest from Saudi sides, with the major clubs there already linked with a move, and now there’s a surprise contender. Al-Qadsiah are the latest to enter the race for the long-serving Liverpool veteran, as the Aramco-owned club managed by former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers position themselves as a serious option for the Egyptian.

The finances will be key to securing any deal for Salah, and Al-Qadsiah, much like their other rivals in the Saudi Pro League, can pay big. They could make an early offer by all means to gauge the interest from the player and have room for further negotiations if needed. Whether Rodgers’ side are good enough in Salah’s eyes is a question only he can answer in due time.

What next for Mohamed Salah?

Salah has been widely expected to make the move to Saudi Arabia for a few years now, and that might be the case amid interest from top clubs there as well as Al-Qadsiah. However, he also has suitors from Europe, with Napoli recently linked with a move for the Liverpool veteran.

Salah also has admirers over in the MLS, as his next decision might depend on what he and his family want. Such is the nature of footballers in the twilight of their careers, and while there are no suggestions that Salah has lost his powers, his next move might be motivated by quality of life and whichever team can make the most lucrative offer.
