Gent striker extends deal with club amid interest from abroad

Gent have announced that young striker Hyllarion Goore has signed an improved contract with the club. Goore has signed a new deal with Gent that will now run until 2029. During the most recent transfer window, there was interest from the likes of Paris FC and Freiburg in the striker, yet he remained in Belgium.

Goore only joined Gent in January of 2025. The imposing forward was signed from Ararat and played 15 games for the Gent senior team during his first half a season with the club. Goore did not score, but there was clearly something about this young Ivorian striker that foreign clubs and Gent liked. So far this season, Goore has played 30 games for the Buffaloes, scoring six goals and grabbing three assists. He has had to operate as a back-up option to former Cardiff City striker Wilfried Kanga, who leads the side in goals this season.

Given that Goore is just 20, Gent are clearly looking to protect an asset that is being scouted by other clubs.
