Filipe Luis linked with Strasbourg role

Liam Rosenior’s move to Chelsea in January proved to be a lose-lose-lose situation. Chelsea slid down the table, RC Strasbourg Alsace would go on to finish outside the European places, and by the end of the season, Rosenior would be out of a job. Xabi Alonso has been confirmed as his replacement for next season.

The man who replaced Rosenior at Strasbourg, Gary O’Neil, may now also be in danger of the sack, as per a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

L’Équipe recently reported that former Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers manager O’Neil was set to continue, that is despite Le Racing finishing eighth in Ligue 1 and suffering elimination in the semi-finals of both the Coupe de France and the UEFA Europa Conference League. The publication adds that the Englishman has been involved in conversations pertaining to recruitment for next season.

However, Toubache-Ter understands that O’Neil may not continue at the Meinau, with Strasbourg interested in former Flamengo manager Filipe Luis.
