Marseille, Lyon and Strasbourg chase Roggerio Nyakossi, with Premier League, Bundesliga and Eredivisie clubs also keeping tabs

Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais and RC Strasbourg Alsace are all said to have set their sights on Roggerio Nyakossi (22), according to Foot Mercato.

Signed by OM from Servette in the summer of 2022, the young defender never managed to break into the first team, settling for a role with the reserves. Which, in the winter of 2025, ultimately led him to decide to leave France in the hope of kick-starting his career.

And it is in Belgium that Nyakossi has finally succeeded. Having become an integral part of OH Leuven, the 1.95-metre-tall player has just completed a season marked by 28 appearances and a remarkable four goals.

Such performances have naturally attracted attention across Europe, drawing interest from numerous French clubs, as mentioned above, as well as clubs from abroad – Feyenoord, Augsburg, Hoffenheim, Stuttgart, Werder Bremen, Everton and even Ipswich Town are also said to be interested in securing the services of the Geneva-born player – to turn their attention to the young Swiss Under-21 international.

Prestigious contenders, however, whom Marseille could well beat to the punch in the race to sign Nyakossi, having retained a priority buy-back option valued at around €6 million at the time of his transfer to Leuven.
