Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are interested in Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot (19), as per a report from L’Équipe.
Canvot only signed for Crystal Palace last summer, joining from formative club Toulouse FC. The France U21 international has featured prominently in his first season at Selhurst Park, playing 37 games in all competitions. He will likely start for Crystal Palace on Wednesday night as they look to overcome Rayo Vallecano in the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
He is attracting the interest of another Spanish side, Barcelona, L’Équipe understands. They could yet face competition from PSG, who have been following Canvot since he left Toulouse. The defender’s performances this season have only reinforced the European champions’ interest in the Frenchman, although their interest is not yet concrete.
The Frenchman’s deal at Crystal Palace runs until 2029, and given that Marc Guehi left in January and that Canvot’s compatriot, Maxence Lacroix, is touted to leave this summer, the Premier League side will be desperate not to lose more bodies in defence.
