Official | Nice part ways with Sporting Director Florian Maurice

OGC Nice have parted ways with Sporting Director Florian Maurice, the club has announced on Monday. The former France international striker joined Les Aiglons from Rennes back in 2024. Maurice was expected to depart following Nice’s more-than-troubled Ligue 1 season, that almost saw the club go down in Ligue 2. Nice’s activity in the transfer market has been criticised over the course of the season.

Nice initially targeted Brest’s Grégory Lorenzi to replace the departing Maurice, but Marseille swooped in at the last minute to lure Lorenzi, although the latter reportedly signed a contract with Nice. Les Aiglons have been forced to pursue alternative targets. Former AC Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada is expected to replace the departing Maurice to spearhead the INEOS-owned Ligue 1 club’s sporting policy.
