Olympique Lyonnais have officially confirmed the departure of Afonso Moreira (21) to Bayer Leverkusen. The Portuguese forward has made the switch to the Bundesliga for a fee in the region of €32m, according to reports.
Despite only costing Les Gones €2m to secure his services from Sporting, Moreira proved to be crucial for OL as they qualified for the UEFA Champions League last season. The 21-year-old made 37 appearances across all competitions for Lyon, scoring 8 goals and registering 11 assists.
Sky Germany reports that OL have already reached an agreement to sign the now Leverkusen forward’s replacement. Les Gones have reached an agreement worth €8.5m with Borussia Dortmund to sign Julien Duranville (20). The Belgian attacker spent last season out on loan at FC Basel.
