Thorgan Hazard set to join Lens

14 years after leaving RC Lens for Chelsea FC, Thorgan Hazard (33) looks to be on the verge of returning to his boyhood club, as per information from Foot Mercato. 

Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis wrties that everything is finalised ahead of Hazard rejoining the club, and that he will travel to the North of France in the coming days. The winger became a free agent at the end of the 2025/26 season when his contract with RSC Anderlecht came to an end. 

Hazard will likely become the second signing for Lens, with the club having already completed a move for Michaël Cuisance (26), who arrived from Hertha BSC as a nominal replacement for the departure of captain Adrien Thomasson. 

Despite reaching the twilight of his career, Hazard had a banner final season for Anderlecht, making 46 appearances across all competitions, and scoring 15 and assisting 11.
