Official | Newcastle United sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille

Newcastle United have signed Lille OSC winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo (21) in a reported €65m deal, both clubs have announced. The 21-year-old winger has joined the Magpies on a long-term contract. The Belgium international winger leaves Lille OSC after three seasons spent in Northern France. Fernandez-Pardo joined Les Dogues from Gant. He went on to feature 71 times for Lille, logging 12 goals and 11 assists. Fernandez-Pardo will wear the No. 20 jersey with Newcastle United.

Fernandez-Pardo has been linked with an exit from LOSC all summer. Newcastle United have been the keenest suitor for the Belgium international, who competed at this summer’s FIFA World Cup. The Magpies needed attacking reinforcements following Anthony Gordon’s sale to FC Barcelona. Lille already anticipated Fernandez-Pardo by signing Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda. Fernandez-Pardo could make his Newcastle United debut at home against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
