Arsenal submit €75 million offer for Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal have reportedly submitted a €75 million offer for Viktor Gyokeres as they hope to beat rivals like Chelsea to the Swedish striker’s signature.

According to Correio de Manha via Caught Offside, Arsenal are ramping up efforts to bring Viktor Gyokeres on priority and have made a €75 million bid for the striker. The Gunners fear the entry of other clubs like Chelsea in the race for the 26-year-old goal machine, as they are keen to wrap up the signing at the earliest.

Arsenal are not taking the upcoming transfer window lightly and have already begun working to secure their top targets. On Saturday, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the Gunners have found an agreement with Martin Zubimendi and that the club are prepared to pay his release clause.

While a midfielder was needed, their top priority for the summer is a prolific striker. The Gunners have struggled without the likes of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus for at least half the season, which has prompted Mikel Arteta and new sporting Director Andrea Berta to secure a new striker on priority.

Arsenal had been working to sign Viktor Gyokeres, with serious links to the Seredish striker emerging in the aftermath of Berta’s appointment at the club. Arteta reportedly prefers a move for Alexander Isak, although the Spanish manager might be right with the acquisition of the 26-year-old goal machine from Sporting CP.

Arsenal are not alone in the chase with Chelsea one of those interested in the striker. The Gunners reportedly fear a hijack of sorts with the report stating that the Blues could potentially offer more money for the striker, and come close to his €100 million release clause.

Arsenal make Viktor Gyokeres bid

Real Madrid are also keen on signing Gyokeres, as they too seek a new striker to improve their attacking setup. Manchester United are also in the mix, as Arsenal are somewhat cautious not to lose the 26-year-old goal machine from their sights.

Hence, the Gunners have reportedly submitted a €75 million bid for the 26-year-old goal machine, as Berta seeks to wrap up the move at the earliest. It remains to be seen whether that much money would prove sufficient for Sporting CP to consider the bid, as Arsenal are the front-runner for the Swede at the current moment.
