Jeremie Frimpong open to Liverpool move

Jeremie Frimpong is repeatedly open to the idea of joining Liverpool, with Arne Slot’s side informed on the conditions to sign the Dutchman.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jeremie Frimpong is expected to approve a move to Liverpool in the summer as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Arne Slot’s side are well informed of the conditions to sign the player who has a €35-40 million release clause in his contract.

Liverpool are planning for a big summer window ahead, with a new right-back one of the priorities for the club. Trent Alexander-Arnold has announced his departure from the club once his contract expires, which makes it imperative to find a like-for-like replacement for the homegrown star.

Monaco’s Vanderson is on their list among other players, although it is the name of Jeremie Frimpong seen as the top target for Liverpool. The Dutchman has been a sensational player from wide for Bayer Leverkusen during his time here, helping the club secure the Bundesliga title last season.

Arne Slot had already liked the idea of Frimpong for quite a while now, and from an attacking perspective, he does look like the closest player they can get as a replacement for Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool are not alone in the mix as the Manchester Clubs have held an interest in the wide player.

Frimpong has a €35-40 million release clause in his contract, that could be reportedly paid in installments. Liverpool are very much aware of the conditions of those payment terms and are strongly considering making a move for the Dutchman.

Jeremie Frimpong expected to join Liverpool

Liverpool are yet to make a move for Frimpong, but the €35-40 million-rated Bundesliga wide player is now expected to approve a move to Anfield if an offer comes about. The player is eager for a new challenge away from Bayer Leverkusen after a successful period here, as a move back to England could be the next step of his career.

The price point seems reasonable from a Liverpool perspective, as a move could materialise. The Merseusiders are also interested in recruiting a left-back with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez considered a top target, while Arne Slot is also expected to sign a few attackers to improve his Premier League-winning squad.
