Inter Milan, Juventus vying for Jakub Kiwior

Serie A giants Inter Milan are Juventus are both interested in acquiring the services of Arsenal utility man Jakub Kiwior.

According to a report from Football Insider, Inter Milan and Juventus are both keen on signing Jakub Kiwior. While the Polish defender has been a constant feature in Arsenal’s backline of late, the Gunners could still look to cash in on him.

Kiwior made a name for himself at Spezia Calcio before joining the North London club at the start of 2023. While he has not really done anything wrong, the 25-year-old has only had limited game time under Mikel Arteta.

He constantly found himself on the bench during the first half of the season as the Spanish manager prefers having William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in the heart of his defence. But with Gabriel picking up a hamstring injury against Fulham last month, the Polish international has featured in each of their last seven league games.

Jakub Kiwior has hardly put a foot wrong but despite his outstanding performances, even he is aware of the fact that he will be back on the bench once Gabriel is back. Since he is likely to be the third-choice centre-back next season as well, the 25-year-old is considering his future at the club.

Italian giants pushing for Kiwior’s signature

There is significant interest in his services from the Serie A and he could be interested in a return to Italy, where Jakub Kiwior could have a much more prominent role from the off. Inter Milan and Juventus are both interested in the young defender, who is capable of playing as a centre-back as well as a left-back.

While Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are both still producing consistent performances, they are not getting any younger. As a result, Inter Milan feel it is important to invest in a young centre-back and they consider Kiwior an ideal fit for their system.

Meanwhile, the Old Lady are also interested in signing the 25-year-old amidst uncertainty around Renato Veiga’s future. The Portuguese defender, who is on loan from Chelsea, has been putting in consistent performances. While they are interested in signing him permanently, the Turin-based outfit also have their eyes on Kiwior as they consider him an ideal alternative.

With multiple clubs interested, the Gunners see this as a great opportunity to cash in on the 25-year-old to gain PSR leeway. More importantly, the funds raised will provide them a boost in their pursuit of some high-profile targets. Kiwior certainly has a big decision to make. He could choose to continue at the club or look to play for one of the Serie A giants.
