He has already lured in Martin Zubimendi as their primary midfield signing, as Arsenal will now take the formal steps to pay the release clause in his Real Sociedad contract.

Reports from Saturday claimed that Arsenal have already made an offer for the striker, although that may have been just rumours at this point. While Berta is pushing to land Gyokeres as a measure of bringing someone established, Arteta might glance favourably at Bundesliga prospect Benjamin Sesko.
Berta has made checks on Sesko as a potential option for the team, and a. ove might still materialise. Arsenal chased the Slovenian last summer before he chose to stay put. As of now, Gyokeres seems like their top target, with the likes of Sesko as the alternative.
