Bournemouth demanding £50-60 million to sell Antoine Semenyo

Arsenal and Manchester United will have to fork out around £50-60 million to sign Bournemouth mainstay Antoine Semenyo.

Bournemouth are well aware that holding onto Antoine Semenyo will be a major challenge amid growing interest from some of the biggest clubs in the country. According to a report from Football Insider, the Cherries are going to stand firm on their asking price of £50-£60 million and they are hoping a bidding war could help them make the most out of his potential sale.

Semenyo joined the Cherries at the start of 2023 after making a name for himself at Bristol City. They forked out £10.5 million (after add-ons) to sign the Ghanaian international, who has only gone from strength to strength in recent seasons.

The London-born winger has been one of their mainstays in recent seasons, and he has played a massive role in their impressive run in the Premier League. A standout performer for Andoni Iraola’s team, he has been crucial in their push to secure continental football for the first time in the club’s history.

The Bournemouth winger has been involved in a total of 40 matches across competitions, and he has contributed towards 18 goals (11 goals, 7 assists). Semenyo’s performances have not gone unnoticed and a host of top clubs are after his signature.

While Bournemouth are reluctant to sell, they know they will find it difficult to keep him in their squad for another season amidst interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Gunners want to add more quality on the left flank, and Andrea Berta has been working to sign a right-footed winger for some time. While Nico Williams is believed to be their priority target, they also have their eyes on Semenyo, who is a proven Premier League star.

Manchester United leading race for Semenyo

While Arsenal continue to monitor the 25-year-old, Manchester United have emerged as the front-runner for his signature. The Red Devils are desperately looking to add more firepower to their attack. Apart from signing a top striker, they also need more quality on the flanks amidst uncertainty around Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho’s future.

Manchester United have placed Semenyo high on their wishlist and are preparing to make a move when the transfer window reopens. Meanwhile, the Cherries are hoping for a bidding war, aiming to maximise their return from his potential departure. They are set to hold out on a fee in the region of £50-60 million, which would represent a significant profit.
