Crystal Palace keen on Junior Tchamadeu, learn cut-price valuation

Crystal Palace want to sign Stoke City defensive sensation Junior Tchamadeu, who could be available for a cut-price fee.

According to a report from Africa Foot, Crystal Palace are keen on reinforcing their defence ahead of next season and have their eyes set on Junior Tchamadeu, who has been doing wonders for Stoke City in the Championship.

Tchamadeu came up the ranks at Colchester United and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before making the move to Stoke in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth €1.3 million.

While he didn’t really have the best debut campaign as he spent the majority of the time on the sidelines, the 21-year-old has certainly made the most out of the opportunities that he has had this season.

He has been a regular starter for them in the league and has certainly put in some consistent performances throughout the season. In his 41 league appearances, he also has three goal contributions to his name.

While the majority of his appearances have come in his preferred right-back position, the Cameroonian international can even feature in the heart of the defence as well as a left-back if needed. His contract at Stoke runs until the summer of 2027 but he is unlikely to be around for long given the amount of interest in him.

The Eagles want to sign Tchamadeu

Crystal Palace are among the clubs keen on signing him. The Eagles are always on the lookout for young and exciting talent from the Championship. Having had success with such signings in the past, they are looking to continue along similar lines.

They are looking at Tchamadeu as an ideal option to bolster their defence. While he prefers playing at right-back, they believe he has a similar profile to that of Marc Guehi. The Eagles consider him to be an ideal replacement for Guehi, who could be on the move to a bigger club this summer.

Stoke are aware of the increasing interest in their defensive sensation and they have set an asking price of at least €5 million. Given the massive potential of the 21-year-old, the fee appears to be a bargain, one the Eagles can certainly afford to pay.
