Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham vying for Simone Inzaghi

Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham are all interested in appointing Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi as their next manager.

Simone Inzaghi is attracting a lot of interest from across the globe thanks to his sensational work at Inter Milan. While his team did miss out on the Coppa Italia final, they could end up winning the Serie A as well as the Champions League as we head into the final weeks of the season.

There are chances of the 49-year-old missing out on both titles but his work surely hasn’t gone unnoticed. According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Chelsea all have him on their managerial shortlist should they decide to make a change in the near future.

After making a name for himself at Lazio, Inzaghi took charge of Inter in the summer of 2021. He has had a major impact at the club, guiding them to multiple titles, including the 2023/24 Serie A title.

The 49-year-old is enjoying another exceptional campaign, with his side sitting second in the league, just a point behind Napoli heading into the final matchday and having secured a place in the Champions League final, where they will face French giants PSG.

Premier League clubs have Inzaghi on their wishlist

His performances have put him on the radar of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham, who could look for a managerial change in the near future. Spurs are considering parting ways with Ange Postecoglou this summer.

It has been a disastrous campaign for the North London club who sit 17th in the league. While winning the Europa League could certainly help, it doesn’t guarantee the Australian manager’s continuity. If they do sack him, Inzaghi could be just the perfect fit for them.

He has already proven himself at Inter and Lazio and his style of play could come in handy in the English top flight. While Chelsea are also looking at the Italian manager, they are unlikely to sack Enzo Maresca anytime soon as he has certainly done a decent job so far.

If things don’t go according to plan in the second season, then they could ponder appointing Inzaghi to replace him. United had a managerial change mid-way through the season as they ended up appointing Ruben Amorim. While things haven’t improved since he took charge, they are expected to back him in this summer window.

The Portuguese manager will have to produce the results in his first full season in charge or else they could show him the exit door. They rate Inzaghi quite highly and he could be just the perfect replacement as there are some similarities between him and Amorim’s style of play.

The possibility of the 49-year-old leaving Inter will increase if they go trophyless. However, if they do end up winning one of the major silverware, all three interested clubs might have to wait a while. For now, Inzaghi is completely focused on the job at hand and is not at all thinking about his future.
