Crystal Palace, Newcastle United rival Tottenham in Richard Rios chase

Richard Rios is attracting massive interest from Premier League sides like Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United ahead of the summer.

According to Eduardo Burgos, a host of Premier League teams are eager to lure in Richard Rios in the current window. The all-action midfielder could be open to the idea of moving out of Brazil, with Palmeiras demanding $20-25 million for the Colombian international.

Richard Rios was one of the common names in the Premier League transfer circles last summer and then in January. The Colombian came into prominence for his performances for the national side at last summer’s Copa America, where they lost out to Argentina in the Final.

The all-action midfielder made a huge impact on some of the clubs, with Manchester United keen back in January alongside Fulham. Whether those clubs are still in the mix remains to be seen, but the likes of Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United certainly are in the frame.

The story also claims Atletico Madrid are in the running, although they are close to finalising a move for Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis. Hence, the Premier League sides might have the upper hand in the race for the Colombian, with his club Palmeiras demanding at least $20-25 million for the Colombian international.

Palace are in the market to strengthen their squad ahead of their entry into the Europa League next season. They will need quality across the pitch as well as squad depth, as the addition of someone like Rios would be beneficial to their cause.

Richard Rios to the Premier League?

Rios also has the interest from Tottenham, who are also looking for an all-action midfielder to bolster their squad. They are linked with Christian Norgaard, but they could jump at the chance of bringing the $20-25 million-rated South American midfield powerhouse.

Newcastle United are also keen, as there are some stories in the media linking Joelinton with a move away. Irrespective of whether the Brazilian star leaves, Eddie Howe would angle a move for a new midfield star that provides him with the dynamics different from his current stars such as Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.
