VI are reporting that Feyenoord have reached an agreement with Istanbulspor for the transfer of winger Gaoussou Diarra. The 22-year-old Malian winger is set to be confirmed soon and is expected to sign a multi-year contract with the Eredivisie club.
Despite being 22, Diarra has only played one year in professional football. However, it was quite a season. In 33 games for Istanbulspor he scored 15 goals and provided two assists in the Turkish second tier. Diarra is able to play on both wings while being a right footed player.
Diarra, who was born in the Malian capital of Bamako, could certainly benefit from an Eredivisie move at international level. With AFCON set to take place at the end of the year in Morocco, if Diarra can impress with Feyenoord he could force himself into the Malian squad for the tournament. The West African nation have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Comoros and Zambia.
