According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Gabriel Martinelli is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window after losing Leroy Sane as a free agent. So, the 24-year-old Arsenal winger has emerged as a target for Die Roten.
The Bavarian giants have already launched the offensive to sign the South American attacker, submitting an enquiry to discuss a possible move. Martinelli has boosted Bayern Munich’s prospects, as he is considering his options and is open “in regards to his future”.
Gabriel Martinelli has come leaps and bounds since joining Arsenal from Ituano Futebol Clube in July 2019. While the 24-year-old had to bide his time before becoming a regular, he has not looked back since establishing a foothold in the first-team squad at the Emirates.
However, Martinelli has been inconsistent in the last 18 months, and he was underwhelming in the 2024/25 season, managing only ten goals and six assists in 51 appearances across all competitions. Nevertheless, the Brazilian attacker’s stock in the market remains high, with Bayern Munich among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich’s interest in Gabriel Martinelli makes sense. The Bundesliga champions are combing the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window after parting ways with Leroy Sane as a free agent. In addition, Kingsley Coman faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, and Bayern Munich may cash in on the French winger.
So, several candidates, including Cody Gakpo, have emerged on Bayern Munich’s radar, with Martinelli also a viable target. The Bavarian giants have submitted an enquiry to sign the 24-year-old from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and the player is “considering his options” at the Emirates.
The Brazilian international is open to options, and a move away from the North London club may be on the cards. While recent reports have claimed that Arsenal may cash in on Martinelli in the summer transfer window, it is unclear if the Gunners still maintain their stance.
