Arsenal agree terms with Cristhian Mosquera

Arsenal have an agreement on personal terms in place with Cristhian Mosquera as they are ready to close the deal with Valencia next.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have secured an agreement with Cristhian Mosquera on personal terms. The aim is to get a deal done with Valencia next as the Gunners are poised to bring the player for a fee in excess of €20 million.

Arsenal are busy in the transfer market, as they could step up their game in the new month. There are plenty of requirements for Mikel Arteta to complete his squad and make them a competitive team ahead of the new season. Those requirements include a new striker, winger and defender.

The Gunners have already agreed on deals for Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the Spanish midfielder seen as a replacement for Thomas Partey as a first-choice starter. The other two are seen more as back-up players, as Arsenal have also been looking for a defender to cover for William Saliba.

Marc Guehi was a target recently, while Arsenal also chased Dean Huijsen before his move to Real Madrid. The Gunners opened talks for Cristhian Mosquera a few days ago, with the move thought to be moving rapidly in their favour.

Mosquera was leaning towards joining RB Leipzig not so while ago, but it appears the entry of Arsenal has turned his head towards the Premier League side. The 21-year-old Olympics 2024 gold medalist has a year left on his Valencia deal, with the La Liga side eager to cash in on on rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer.

Cristhian Mosquera agrees personal terms with Arsenal

Arsenal are confident of signing Mosquera at the earliest, with the deal advancing in the right direction. As things stand, the defender has agreed on personal terms with the Gunners which could see Andrea Berta accelerate talks with Valencia to get an agreement in place.

Valencia has already rejected an opening bid from the Gunners, which Fabrizio Romano confirmed to be in the €14 million mark. Arsenal are not expected to make a second offer in excess of €20 million which could prove enough to seal the transfer of the 21-year-old Olympics 2024 gold medalist, who is ready to take on the challenge of competing with the likes of Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
