JJ Gabriel set for Manchester United stay

Manchester United have received a major boost in their efforts to keep English attacking prospect JJ Gabriel at the club.

According to Nathan Salt, Manchester United have managed to convince JJ Gabriel to continue at Old Trafford amidst interest from a host of top European clubs. The 14-year-old attacking sensation is set to sign a new deal thanks to United chiefs.

Gabriel has been doing wonders in the United youth setup. At just 14, he has already featured for the Under-18s in three league fixtures. The 2010-born striker has managed to score three goals, having been on the pitch for just 71 minutes. He averages a goal every 24th minute.

The English youth international is regarded as one of the best young talents in the country. He has drawn comparisons to Brazilian superstar Neymar for his style of play and technical abilities.

While United are well aware of the fact that they have a gem in their hands, the Red Devils were worried about his future, as every top club in Europe was after his signature. With some of the biggest clubs trying to poach the 14-year-old, Ruben Amorim‘s team feared they could lose out on one of the most talked-about players in England.

United convince Gabriel to pen a new deal

However, it seems they have managed to convince him to continue at the club. While initially negotiations were not going their way, interventions from United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox and Matt Hargreaves have turned the tide in their favour.

Important meetings in the past week have helped the Red Devils convince the teenage sensation. He has made a decision to continue at Old Trafford and will soon put pen to paper on a new deal as the agreement is in the final stages.

While United haven’t been at their best for almost a decade, they are still one of the biggest clubs in the world. Keeping a talent like Gabriel was very important for them, and they have managed to get it over the line.

He might only be 14, but he is already playing with the Under-18s. Given his talent and massive potential, it won’t be long before he makes his senior debut.
