La Liga newcomers Real Oviedo have this week announced the signing of a recognisable name across Europe.
The player in question? Salomón Rondón.
Frontman Rondón has for his part enjoyed a pair of previous stints in Spain, on the books of Las Palmas, and Málaga.
The Venezuelan international also spent time lining out for the likes of Newcastle United, Everton and West Bromwich Albion in England.
Most recently, Rondón has been plying his trade in Mexico, with Pachuca.
As alluded to above, though, this week, the 35-year-old has secured a fresh return to Europe, with Real Oviedo.
Rondón has put pen to paper on the terms of a one-year loan at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, brought in to act as a proven goalscoring presence ahead of a season back in the top-flight of Spanish football for Oviedo.
As per an official statement across the website and social media platforms of the Carbayones:
‘Real Oviedo and Pachuca have reached an agreement for the loan of Salomón Rondón until June 30, 2026.’
