According to a report by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, John Victor is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. So, the 29-year-old Botafogo shot-stopper has emerged as a target for the Tyneside outfit.
The South American goalkeeper is also on Manchester United’s radar, with the Red Devils eyeing him as Andre Onana’s new deputy. The two Premier League clubs have submitted enquiries to discuss a possible deal for the Botafogo shot-stopper. He has a release clause worth R$7 million in his contract with the reigning Brasileirao Serie A champions.
John Victor has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in his homeland since joining Botafogo from Santos in January 2024. The 29-year-old was instrumental in Estrela Solitária’s title-winning campaign last season, and his stock has soared during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has turned out 79 times thus far for Botafogo while conceding 66 goals and keeping 32 clean sheets. Meanwhile, John’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing him, with Everton and Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
