Fiorentina eyeing January move for Josh Acheampong, Axel Disasi

Serie A club Fiorentina will reportedly look to sign Josh Acheampong and Axel Disasi from Chelsea in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Josh Acheampong and Axel Disasi are the subjects of interest from Fiorentina. The struggling Serie A club will aim to rescue a faltering campaign by signing multiple defenders in the winter transfer window. So, the Chelsea defensive duo has emerged as a target for La Viola.

While Fiorentina will attempt to secure a loan deal for Acheampong, a move for Disasi will be a permanent transfer, as the Frenchman has no future at Chelsea. So, it will not be surprising to see the latter joining the struggling Serie A club in the winter transfer window.

Josh Acheampong is the latest promising prospect to rise in prominence at Chelsea. The Blues have been a consistent producer of world-class prodigies, and the 19-year-old has made his mark since breaking into the first-team squad last season. The Englishman has 22 outings thus far for Chelsea while chipping in with one goal.

As for Axel Disasi, the 27-year-old has been with Chelsea since August 2023, and he has endured a topsy-turvy ride in the last two years. The French international has gradually fallen in the pecking order, and he has been out of favour during Enzo Maresca’s spell with the West London club. Disasi and Acheampong have now emerged as targets for Fiorentina.

Fiorentina’s interest in Josh Acheampong and Axel Disasi is understandable. The struggling Serie A club will dip into the market for multiple reinforcements in the winter transfer window as they aim to rescue a potentially disastrous campaign in the second half of the 2025/26 season.

Recent reports have linked La Viola with several players, including Borna Sosa. However, Disasi and Acheampong are also viable targets for Fiorentina. While both players can bolster the Serie A club’s central defensive options, Acheampong can also play as a centre-back.

While Acheampong will be a loan arrival, Disasi will likely leave Chelsea on a permanent deal in the winter transfer window. It will be interesting to see how talks between Chelsea and Fiorentina progress if the Violets firm up their interest in the defensive duo.
