Roma growing annoyed in pursuit of Atletico’s Jack Raspadori

Roma are growing increasingly frustrated in their pursuit of Giacomo Raspadori, as the Atletico Madrid forward continues to stall on a move back to Serie A.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, despite the Giallorossi reaching a total agreement on personal terms with the player, the operation has entered a concerning period of stalemate.

Notably, Roma sporting director Ricky Massara has pulled out all the stops to secure the 25-year-old, offering a deal worth roughly €4 million per season. The agreement with Atletico is structured as a €2 million paid loan with a redemption right set at €18.5 million, which Roma has guaranteed to exercise in June. Furthermore, even though entourage member Manuel Montipò is currently in Madrid alongside lead agent Tullio Tinti to try and thrash out the final details, Raspadori remains full of doubt.

Indeed, the primary source of Roma’s annoyance is the player’s hesitation, which appears tied to a return of flame from Napoli. Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on bringing the striker back to the Stadio Maradona, viewing him as a versatile tactical asset. However, Napoli’s market is currently blocked by a “zero balance” policy, meaning they must first sell a major player like Lorenzo Lucca or Noa Lang before they can formalize an offer—a delay that Raspadori seems willing to wait for.

Consequently, Massara’s patience has reached its limit. The Giallorossi chief has tried everything and expects a definitive response within the next 24 hours. If a clear signal does not arrive from Madrid by the end of the day, Roma are prepared to move on to alternative targets, unwilling to remain a second or third choice while the player waits for a potential opening in Naples.
