Liverpool have already started planning for the summer transfer window. The Reds will look to revamp their backline, and according to a report from TEAMtalk, they could make a move to bring Jarell Quansah back to the club.
Quansah had been a part of the Liverpool setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2023. Since he wasn’t an integral part of their team, they ended up cashing in on him last summer.
He has only gone from strength to strength since joining Bayer Leverkusen. He has been involved in a total of 32 games across competitions and has contributed towards four goals. The English centre-back has been one of the standout performers for the German club, and his work hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Former club Liverpool have been actively scouting him over the last month. They have intensified their assessment as they consider bringing him back to Anfield. Their scouts have been spotted in the stands for Leverkusen’s last four games, and they are quite impressed with Quansah’s performance.

The German outfit have only conceded one goal in that period, and the 23-year-old has even scored twice, including a late equaliser at home against Mainz. Liverpool’s ownership, the Fenway Sports Group, are considering bolstering their backline this summer.
While they have already signed Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, who will be joining them in the summer, the Reds are still in the market for another central defender amidst uncertainty around Ibrahima Konate’s future. With his contract running out, the French international could end up leaving as a free agent.
The Reds are internally discussing the possibility of bringing Quansah back to the club to replace the former RB Leipzig defender. While they sold him for just £35 million, the Reds will certainly have to fork out a bigger fee to bring him back.
They do have a buy-back clause, but it won’t be active until the summer of 2027. However, it will certainly help if they do enter into negotiations with the German outfit. Leverkusen are aware of Liverpool’s interest, and if the player seeks a return, they won’t stand in his way. A potential deal this summer could cost €60 million (£52.5 million).
