Oliver Glasner wants to continue as manager despite Red Bull links

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner will remain in top-level management after leaving Selhurst Park despite being linked with the Red Bull group.

According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Oliver Glasner will continue to manage at the highest level after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season. While he has been linked with a move back to the Red Bull group in a different capacity, the Austrian manager has no intentions of giving up his coaching career just yet.

The 51-year-old is currently focused on ending his stint at Selhurst Park in the best possible way before thinking about his next gig. A host of top clubs are beleived to be keen on having Glasner on their bench ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Oliver Glasner to continue as a manager

Reports suggest that the Red Bull group are looking at him as an ideal option to replace Jurgen Klopp and step into a new role. But he does not seem to have any intentions of leaving management.

While speaking about Glasner’s situation, O’Rourke said, “Yeah, I would say it’s very unlikely that something like that would happen. Obviously, Red Bull officials did come out and deny those suggestions at Jurgen Klopp could leave his role there and potentially return to management.

“Glasner obviously, as you said, has links to the Red Bull operation but I don’t see him rushing to leave the managerial dugout anytime soon. Obviously, he’s going to leave Crystal Palace at the end of season when his contract expires but I’m sure Glasner will be looking to continue in coaching and being a manager.

“He’ll want to be at the front rather than taking a sort of a backseat role at Red Bull, looking after their operations. I’m sure Glasner is weighing up a lot of options right now where he will continue his career because there’ll be interest from the Premier League and from Europe as well because of how well he’s done at Palace and how well he did at Frankfurt as well.

“So I don’t think there’s any indication that Glasner’s ready to give up his coaching career just yet. And as I said Jurgen Klopp seems happy at Red Bull and what he’s doing and Red Bull are happy with him so looks like a bit of a non-starter that report to me.”

Glasner is gearing up for his next managerial gig

Oliver Glasner announced back in January that he would be leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season. For now, he is focused on helping them win the UEFA Conference League and secure the highest possible Premier League finish. But at the same time, he has started considering his options.

A number of top clubs from England and Europe are keen on appointing him as their next boss, thanks to his impressive work at Crystal Palace and Eintracht Frankfurt. Manchester United were interested in his services, but they have pulled out of the race because of how he has conducted himself in recent months.

Reports even suggested that he could replace Jurgen Klopp as the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull. However, the German is happy in his current role and won’t be leaving. More importantly, Glanser does not intend to take up any other role. He wants to continue as a manager for now.
