Pierre Aristouy in contention for Nantes return

Pierre Aristouy is in contention to return as manager of FC Nantes, according to a report from Ouest-France.

Ahmed Kantari’s position at the Beaujoire is hanging by a thread, and it is likely that he has already managed his final game for Nantes. His side lost 1-0 to Angers SCO over the weekend. Since replacing Luís Castro in December, Kantari has managed 10 games in Ligue 1, taking six points and losing eight games.

As per Ouest-France, the hierarchy are already searching for Kantari’s successor as they look to stave off relegation to Ligue 2. They are currently in the relegation zone and seven points from safety. Aristouy, who managed 17 games for Les Canaris in 2023, is a name being considered as a replacement. Nantes are yet to get in touch with him, however.

Michel Der Zakarian has not been contacted either, whilst Pascal Dupraz has shown an interest in the job, but that interest is not reciprocal. Alongside Aristouy, Stéphane Moreau (currently manager of the U19s side) is also a frontrunner for the job.
