Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush is on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur on an initial loan deal this summer.
According to an update from reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Omar Marmoush has been the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites have been eager to reinforce their offensive unit by signing a striker in the ongoing transfer window, and they have now reached an agreement to sign the versatile 27-year-old Manchester City attacker.
Per Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between Manchester City and Tottenham has a conditional obligation clause worth £50 million. The Italian journalist has added that Marmoush will travel to London and complete his medical on Monday before formally completing the loan move.
Omar Marmoush has seen dramatic highs and lows since joining Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth £59 million in January 2025. While the 27-year-old was a rare bright spot for City in the second half of the 2024/25 season after taking to the Premier League like a fish to water, he struggled for regular game time in the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite his versatility, Marmoush dropped in the pecking order, and he did not even manage 1,500 minutes of game time in 36 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with eight goals and three assists. Nevertheless, the Egyptian attacker’s stock has remained unaffected, and he can now focus on excelling for his new club.
Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Omar Marmoush in the winter transfer window, but a deal did not see the light of day. The continued interest has been understandable, as they have yet to replace Randal Kolo Muani, who returned to Paris Saint-Germain after the end of his loan spell before rejoining Juventus earlier this summer.
Additionally, Dominic Solanke has yet to show that he can become an asset for Tottenham after struggling with persistent fitness issues since arriving from Bournemouth. With Richarlison reportedly facing an uncertain future at the North London club, signing a striker has become a priority. Marmoush has thus emerged as a viable target, and recent reports claimed that Spurs intensified their efforts to sign the Egyptian international.
Fabrizio Romano revealed in his report that Marmoush “said yes to Tottenham days ago”. Meanwhile, an update from the Evening Standard has suggested that the Egyptian international and Savinho may be eligible to face Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup second round if they complete their medical tests on Monday.
